Biomedical Research Hub (BRH)

Makes international patient data available for research via federation

The Biomedical Research Hub (BRH) is an international cloud-based federated system to manage, analyse, and share patient data for research. Each data platform in the system sets up the same core software services (e.g. authentication/authorisation, FAIR services for data, import/export of clinical and phenotype data) based upon its own data and platform governance rules. This enables different platforms to interoperate when authorised.

The BRH platform is funded by the Center for Translational Data Science at the University of Chicago, and the software services used in BRH are funded in part by several US National Institutes of Health projects, including the Helping to End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) Data Platform, BioData Catalyst, and the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC).
