European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI)

Federating genomic and health data access across Europe

The European Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI) project is creating the foundation to provide access to genomic and health data across Europe.  Building upon the work of the Beyond 1 Million Genomes (B1MG) project, GDI will implement the vision of the 1+Million Genomes (1+MG) initiative: to enable federated and secure access to a virtual cohort of genomic and its corresponding phenotypic and clinical data for better research, personalised care, and health policy making. GDI will develop and deploy the technical capacity needed to realise, scale, and sustain this effort, aiming to help at least 15 countries achieve a fully operational infrastructure by 2026.

GDI is funded by the European Union’s Digital Europe Programme under grant agreement number 101081813.
