The Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) Product Steering Committee has approved the release of two new GA4GH products: Experiments Metadata Checklist and Whole Genome Sequencing Quality Control Standards

The Experiments Metadata Checklist establishes a minimum checklist of properties to standardise descriptions about how genomics experiments are conducted. Product development was led by David Bujold (Canadian Centre for Computational Genomics at McGill University) and Peter Woollard (EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute), under the guidance of Discovery Work Stream Manager Beatrice Amos (Wellcome Sanger Institute).

The Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) Quality Control (QC) Standards establish global best practices for consistent, reliable, and comparable genomic data quality across institutions. Product development was led by Justin Jeyakani, Maxime Hebrard, and Nicolas Bertin of Genome Institute of Singapore, A*STARa research partner of PRECISE, under the guidance of LSG Work Stream Manager, Reggan Thomas (EMBL’s European Bioinformatics Institute).
