Two GA4GH products celebrate product development milestone

Now is a great time to get involved with these efforts.
In January 2024, the GA4GH Steering Committee approved two products, Categorical Variation (CatVar) and Data Model and Schema Consensus (DaMaSC), to advance from the study group phase into development.
CatVar aims to develop a data model (and related tools) for categorical variants in genomic knowledge-bases. CatVar has updated their meeting times to encourage participation across different time zones. The team now meets biweekly on the first Wednesday of the month at 19:00 UTC and the third Tuesday of the month at 12:00 UTC.
DaMaSC explores ways to facilitate interoperability across GA4GH products and Work Streams. The team is moving towards a proof of concept for a schema registry, and aims to explore other ideas to facilitate interoperability of GA4GH standards. The team meets monthly, alternating between the third Thursday of the month at 15:00 UTC and the third Friday of the month at 15:00 UTC.
