AI is reshaping genomics. GA4GH is making sure it happens responsibly. 

GA4GH is launching a new Work Stream to develop governance recommendations and data standards to foster responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in genomics and health. The Work Stream will be led by Marc Fiume (DNAstack) and Susheel Varma (Sage Bionetworks) to provide technical leadership and guide standards development within this space.  

Without shared standards, AI risks producing systems that are fragmented, inaccessible to lower-resourced institutions, and unable to replicate across populations. The new Work Stream will extend the foundation of trust that GA4GH has established over the past decade into an era of AI-driven science.
