The GA4GH 13th Plenary Meeting, co-hosted by SciLifeLab, brought together members of the global genomics and health community for a week of collaboration, technical advancement, and strategic reflection. Nearly 300 attendees gathered in Uppsala, Sweden, and more than 300 participants joined virtually from around the world. The GA4GH Plenary meetings are crucial forums to convene people from across a wide variety of sectors — including research, healthcare, government, and academia — to discuss the path forward for responsible global genomic and health data sharing. The meeting centred on core themes of the value of genomic medicine, the evolving role of artificial intelligence (AI) in genomics, the importance of collaboration, and the vital cultivation of trust amongst all participants in the healthcare ecosystem.

The meeting was also highlighted in Technology Networks and several blog posts from meeting attendees (Ewan Birney, Deborah Ekusai Sebatta, Rukiya Mohamed Haji). You may also learn more about the meeting in our press release and in a video produced by SciLifeLab.

This Plenary, we had more than 50 posters as part of the GA4GH poster session. To view all posters presented during the meeting, visit the Poster Guide.

Thank you to our meeting sponsors, funders, and Plenary Programme Committee Members for dedicating time, energy, and resources to shaping this year’s meeting and making 13th Plenary possible.
