Founded by Congress in 2004, the National Institute of Genomic Medicine (INMEGEN) is the eleventh National Institute of Health in Mexico. It emerged from a strategic consortium driving innovation since 2001, integrated by UNAM, CONACYT, and FUNSALUD. Under the current leadership of Director General Dr. Jorge Meléndez Zajgla, INMEGEN has established itself as a global leader in precision medicine and population health. The institute is dedicated to expanding scientific research on the human genome, fostering specialised human talent, and developing advanced genomic solutions for Latin American populations with a strong focus on distributive justice, universal ethics, and evidence-based prevention. In accordance with the Federal Law for the Protection of Industrial Property, INMEGEN holds exclusive legal rights to its registered trademark, name, and logo, ensuring their ethical and authorised use across all international collaborations.
